Things are gearing up at Lowup Records. We’re more than thrilled to present a joint release of Max Le Daron’s Monin’Guetin together with Akwaaba. Max has been working intensely this last couple of years on a series of Afro inspired tunes, collaborating with various vocalists. Monin’Guetin is a serious Afro banger featuring Joey Le Soldat, Burkina rapper on the rise & Gan Gah.
The original will be out in a few on Akwaaba music alongside other gems. We at Lowup, will present the accompanying remix EP featuring remixes by Gafacci, KKing Kong, Siete Catorce & Lorenzo BITW.
First up is Ghanaian producer Gafacci (the guy behind Jowaa) with a darker, threatening groove, also adding some percussive elements resulting in a fusion of Club aesthetics with a genuine afro feel. A Juju ceremony for the dancefloor. Next is portuguese producer on the rise Kking Kong (Enchufada). This guy is on fire, check his latest 20 or so productions. Here he delivers the goods once again. Warning: certified banger with a bewitching flute sound that will nest itself inside your head for days.
Siete Catorce a producer hailing from mexico deconstructs and reassembles this global club music twisting it into a far out hypnotizing Affair, one for the headz! Lorenzo Bitw has steadily pushed his way into the focus of many over the last two years. This one definitely has a more techno/trancey feel and a great build up resulting in a liberating climax!
